STOPPING EMOTIONAL PAIN

The mind is efficient in explaining through thoughts about practical things like how to do something in the present moment, or how to get from here to there. That is good.

Thoughts that create fear and worry are mind stories of guesses and fears about life situations, what happened in the past or what will happen in the future.

Believing and attaching ourselves to these thoughts create psychological pain.

These thoughts arise from the ego, from your particular conditioning and they are not reliable , they are not based on truth.

The root cause of suffering is putting your belief in such thoughts.

The best thing to do is allow the thoughts to come and go and not engage with them.

Let the mind say whatever it wants to say, just watch the thoughts as they appear and disappear.

Taking a step back and watching your thoughts, and not believing them takes practice.

It is a lifelong practice and it is possible .

This practice teaches you to be undisturbed by the thoughts and to be alert and aware and deal with situations with mental clarity.

Remember, only the present moment is real, thoughts and objects exist only if they are happening right now.

Life can only be lived, changed or felt in the current moment and not in the past or future.

This moment, right now, is the only thing that is truly real, everything else is either a memory or a possibility.

Blessings!

  1. Premlatha, yes.

‘Let the mind say whatever it wants to say, just watch the thoughts as they appear and disappear.’

That’s the whole practice, isn’t it? Not fighting them, just letting them pass like clouds. The present moment is all we really have. Thank you for this reminder. πŸ’™
