LEAD BY EXAMPLE

LEAD BY EXAMPLE

Imitation is a natural human behavior.
We tend to mimic the gestures of those we admire, often unconsciously.
This instinct has shaped cultures and societies for eons, bringing together individuals with shared values and interests.

Scientists say mirror neurons in our brains are responsible for this behavior. These neurons help children imitate their parents’ actions even before they learn to speak.

When I was in middle school, I used to ride a bus with seats facing each other. One evening, I yawned and noticed two people sitting opposite me yawned too. The next day, it happened again. It became a fun game. Whenever people sat silently around me, I’d yawn, and soon, many of them would follow.

The same happens with laughter. When we hear children laugh, or someone giggles for no apparent reason or even when we see a fun picture, we often find ourselves laughing too.

When I was teaching school, I noticed my students imitated me. Some even carried purses under their arms, just like I did. That’s when I realized: true teaching isn’t through words, it’s through example.

The best way to inspire and build trust is to lead by example.
Live your principles, don’t just teach them.
Make your life the lesson.

Be mindful, because actions truly speak.
If you want your students, your children, or your team to listen, be the first to offer your listening ear.
If you seek respect, be the first to treat everyone with respect, regardless of age, status, or rank.
If you want your children to take responsibility, then you stop the blame games. Own your mistakes, and model how to fix things with grace.

A good teacher doesn’t simply create students, she creates future teachers.
A wise parent doesn’t raise children, they raise future role models.
A great leader doesn’t just build a team, they build future empowered leaders.

Leading by example builds values of compassion, responsibility, integrity, optimism, respect, and courage.
When we live our truth, walk our talk, and lead by example, we become ambassadors of peace and harmony on this planet.
Blessings!
