THE LAOGONG POINT
The Laogong point is located at the center of the palm where the tip of the middle finger touches the palm when you make a fist.
The Lao Gong is also one of the most powerful acupuncture/acupressure points and is also considered a minor chakra.
Laogong is the eighth point on the pericardium meridian (Pc-8) in
Traditional Chinese Medicine.
It is the key point that connects the heart and the digestive system and several other organ systems of the body.
It plays a powerful role in regulating the blood flow and Qi. It calms the spirit, clears anxiety, removes excess heat from the body, heals mouth and tongue ulcers and even said to release fevers.
Master Chunyi Lin, the founder of Spring Forest Qi Gong teaches about massaging the Laogong point to heal the heart and strengthen the heart’s energy.
Place the thumb of your right hand on the laogong point in your left hand and gently hold the left hand with the other fingers in the right hand. With the thumb of your right hand apply gentle pressure to the Laogong point in your left hand and massage it in circular movements for 30 seconds. Now move to the right hand’s laogong point and do the same massage for 30 seconds with your left hand.
Master Chunyi Lin says that while massaging this point say in your mind “The Channels in my heart open, the blockages in my heart are completely healed, I am completely healed”
I have personally found this Laogong point to be very effective in releasing the discomfort of acidity and nausea, and also bring comfort during times of anxiety.
Blessings!
