DO YOUR BELIEFS LIMIT YOU?

A REMINDER TO SELF

DO YOUR BELIEFS LIMIT YOU?

A belief is a state of mind. Beliefs can limit you from moving forward in life. It can be a judgment about life that you think to be true. It can be an idea you have about yourself that restricts you in someway.
We develop our beliefs from childhood. The family, society, education system have been instilling beliefs and opinions in us. They shape us and they dictate the way we view the world around us.
When beliefs create a negative state of mind and hinder us from new opportunities and life experiences, they certainly are limiting beliefs. These limiting beliefs create problems in mental health and also keep you tied to a comfort zone that keeps your mind and heart closed.
Mistakenly we hang on to these beliefs thinking that they will keep us safe from rejection and humiliation.
It is important to become aware of the self sabotage that we do to ourselves because of our limiting beliefs.

I am reminded of this story as I think about limiting beliefs:
As a man was passing the camels, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. It was obvious that the camels could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.
He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”
The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.
Like the camels, many of us go through life hanging onto belief systems.
A belief becomes true even if it is not true, a belief is a myth we create within ourselves. Belief systems prevent us from seeing the truth.
We get to taste life truly only when we choose inquire and investigate our beliefs.

When you face discord either in relationship, health, finance, or job situation, any kind of discord is disharmony with life. It is important to sit with oneself and become aware. Understand that you are not your problems, you are the solution maker of the problems.

The simple way is to believe in yourself, trust that you are born capable. Start practicing self-love. Be kind to yourself. Stop judging and criticizing yourself.
The practice of gratitude, connection with nature, satisfying your inner child, rewriting your story with new thoughts and affirmations are profound ways to move beyond the limiting beliefs.
It does takes time and consistent practice to get out of limiting beliefs, but when you are consistent in what you are doing, you will be successful.
It is important that you invest time on your growth. It is important that you invest time to get into harmony with life. Invest time to build up your self esteem. You can do it.
You are worthy to live a wonderful life!
You are capable of creating new solutions!
Blessings!
