LAW OF UNITY CONSCIOUSNESS
Indegenous people have always believed that everything is connected to everything and that there is never any separation. Thousands of researches conducted during the 1980s have proven that there is a field of energy that connects everything and that this field is a bridge between our inner and our outer worlds.
This is an important point to note. It means that when we offer prayer, or healing, or good thoughts to someone, it reaches them even if they are at the other end of the world through this energy field.
It also means that what we do for ourselves we can see the effect ripple out to the world around us. And it also means that what we sow we get to reap the exact thing.
The most prevalent Golden Rule of all ancient scriptures around the world is the principle of treating others as you want to be treated.
Ancient Egypt papyrus of Ma’at contains this rule, ‘That which you hate to be done to you, do not do to another.’
Ancient Indian text, the Mahabharatha, says,’ One should never do something to others that one would regard as an injury to one’s own self.’
Ancient Tirukkural of the Tamil tradition of India says, ‘Do not do to others what you know has hurt yourself.’
Ancient Greek philosophy has this Golden Rule in many of its teachings. These are some of them, ‘Avoid doing what you would blame others for doing – Thales’
‘Do not do to others, that which angers you when they do it to you. – Isocrates’
Ancient Persian text says, ‘ Whatever is disagreeable to yourself do not do unto others.’
The Torah in Judaism states the Golden Rule, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
The Golden Rule is also explained in ancient books of Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Confusianism, Taoism, Mohism, Iranian religions, traditional Africal religions.
The Golden Rule is also common in New Religious Movements of Wicca, Scientology, Humanism, and Existentialism.
The most important thing to note is that separation is an illusion. We are not separate from each other, not separate from any other beings like plants, animals, rocks, clouds or mountains, and neither are we separate from God. Unity of Consciousness & Unity with Divinity is the Law of the Cosmos.
The illusion of time and space in this physical world does not allow us to understand the consequence for our actions.
When we practice loving the self and being kind to the self, the law of unity consciousness will make us love others unconditionally.
When we choose to give ourselves our own love and affection, and hold a loving space of non-judgment for ourselves, it ripples out to offer the gift of unconditional love to other beings around us.
The more nurturing attention and supporting self-talk we give ourselves the more we bring out the best gifts from within us. We transform ourselves and the ripple effect transforms the world around us because of the Law of Unity Consciousness.
So the way you love yourself is the way you love the world around you. If you continue to be judgmental and unloving towards yourself, you will be unloving to others also.
The world begins from you. So how can you consciously do unto others what you want them to do unto you? You begin by loving the self first. How you treat yourself is definitely the way you will treat others.
When you are a peaceful person, your actions towards others become peaceful. When you take time to sit with yourself in silence and process your thoughts, you remove negative thoughts and make room to create a pattern of positive thoughts in your mind.
When you practice stillness, you expand your heart space, you receive the light of understanding.
If you do not do the inner work, and do not choose to process your thoughts, you continue to hold unprocessed beliefs and thoughts that continue to create discord within and they also ripple out to others around. The discordant thoughts form negative patterns which influence all decision making in life.
The Law of Unity Consciousness requires goodwill towards one’s own self, so that it ripples out to the world around us.
